James Blaine (J.B.) Chapman was a holiness preacher and present at the founding of the Church of the Nazarene. He served as president of Arkansas Holiness College and Peniel College, on various boards and committees for the Church of the Nazarene, as editor for the Herald of Holiness with B.F. Haynes, and as general superintendent for over 20 years before his retirement.

He was married to Maud and father to Lois Catherine, James Blaine Jr., Grace Bess, Frederick Harold, George Brilhart, Gertrude Edwina, and Paul Benton. After Maud's death, he married Louise Robinson, a missionary who headed the Nazarene Foreign Missionary Society for many years.
