Doctor Roberto Hodgson graduated in 1985 from the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas, in San José, Costa Rica, with a degree in (Licenciatura) Theology. During that time he pastored the Church of the Nazarene in San Pedro de Poás, 1982-1985.

He was ordained as an elder in 1986. He pastored the Hispanic Church of the Nazarene in Washington, D.C. from 1986 to 1992. From 1993 to 2002, he served as coordinator of the Latino Ministries in the Washington, D.C. district (now Mid-Atlantic).

In 1992, he completed his Master in Theological Studies at Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, D.C. and in 2003, he graduated from the Graduate Theological Foundation with the title of Doctorate in Ministry.

Since 2002 he has been serving as Director of Hispanic Ministries for the USA-Canada Region. He ministered as Superintendent of the Southwest Latin American District from 2007 to 2012. In May of 2012 he was appointed as director of Multicultural Ministries USA-Canada, and has been serving in that capacity since that time.
