Description / Abstract
Dr. Carla Sunberg is a general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene (2017) and was ordained on the Russia North District where she and her husband, Chuck, served for 13 years as pioneer missionaries to the former Soviet Union. Upon their return to the USA, they pastored Grace Point Church of the Nazarene (Fort Wayne, Indiana) and then served as co-district superintendents of the East Ohio District Church of the Nazarene until Carla’s election as president of Nazarene Theological Seminary in 2014. Carla is a graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University (Nursing), Nazarene Theological Seminary (MA, Theological Studies), and The University of Manchester (PhD, Historical Theology), and has an honorary doctorate from Olivet Nazarene University. Her books include Reflecting the Image: Our Call to Mirror Christ in the World and The Cappadocian Mothers among others. The Sunbergs have two married daughters and two granddaughters.
